SV8300 Release 8 


January 17, 2013. NEC has announced the release of SV8300 R8 software effective immediately and introduces powerful new capabilities on the popular SV8300 platform. This software is shipped on all new orders and is also available as a no-charge software upgrade to existing SV8300 users with an active Software Assurance subscription. New features of R8 include:
Dual CPU Expansion Expands Dual CPU (Back-up CPU) to Units 2, 3 and 4
External Music on Hold (MOH) for DT700 Station to station DT700 IP calls can receive external system-wide MOH when placed on hold. Provides easy implementation for MOH on peer-to-peer DT700 to DT700 held calls
Timed notification on Multiline Terminal Allows Multiline Terminals to sound an alarm at a preset time; notify the start or end of working hours, class hours, lunchtime etc.
Power Saving Features Enables on/off power control for Digital Multiline Terminals – resulting in a 20% to 40% power savings depending on system configuration.
Caller ID on SN716 Attendant Console on Incoming Trunk Call Provides both name and number on ringing trunk calls with SN716 or DT700/DT300 being used as attendant console.

SV8100 Release 8 


November 19, 2012. NEC has announced the release of SV8100 R8 software effective immediately and introduces powerful new capabilities on the popular SV8100 platform. This software is shipped on all new orders and is also available as a no-charge software upgrade to existing SV8100 users with an active Software Assurance subscription. New features of R8 include:
Centralized Management Provides more control of the SV8100 system by allowing IT staff to monitor connection statistics, station trunk usage and more – all from a central location.
VM8000 InMail Allows voicemail boxes to be configured to create a preset time to receive new message notifications. This is useful for companies that commonly receive messages after regular business hours.
InACD CallerID-Based Routing Incoming calls are tagged by CallerID information so that any future calls are routed to the agent who took the original call. This reduces wait times for incoming calls and improves customer service.
Enhanced Do Not Disturb (DND) Feature Enables users to activate the DND feature even if the phone is not currently ringing. Callers will simply receive a user-customized message, be transferred to voicemail and asked to leave a message.

New System Capabilities

Caller ID Passthrough On calls received in the SV8300 and transferred out to a mobile phone user, the Caller ID of the calling party is displayed to the remote mobile user. ISDN or SIP trunks are required to support this feature
Mobility Enhancement Call Twinning is now supported on SIP trunks
SIP Phone Enhancement Industry standard SIP phone capacity has been expanded to 1024 stations
Temporary License Activation In the event of a CPU problem, all system license data can be loaded quickly into a second CPU

December 20th, 2011. NEC has announced the release of SV8100 R6 software effective immediately and introduces powerful new capabilities on the popular SV8100 platform. This software is shipped on all new orders and is also available as a no-charge software upgrade to existing SV8100 users with an active Software Assurance subscription. New features of R6 include:
Network Address Translation (NAT) Traversal Enhancement Enables a secure, peer-to-peer connection for IP terminals which provides easy, plug-and-play setup between devices.  This makes it easier to deploy remote equipment, thus simplifying telecommuting.
Standard SIP Transfer Provides third-party call control as well as a variety of decentralized, multi-party call operations.
Enhanced Features for UNIVERSE InMail

Includes a variety of new voice messaging and auto-attendant features, including advanced e-mail and voice-message notifications and enhanced message playback options.

Enhanced Remote System Upgrade

Keeps customers’ UNIVERGE SV8100 solution at the forefront of technology by allowing remote software upgrades which means there are fewer deployment risks, and minimal service interruption and downtime.
